What's happening, my friend? You're in the mix with Mr. Chris for an AWESOME podcast of The Soul Brother Show - The Home of Heavy Soul and Raw Funk! Ever since I was a kid watching Soul Train on Saturday mornings, I have been a fan of the great funk band Slave. Dropping hits such as "Watching You," "Snap Shot," and "Just a Touch of Love," I jammed my parents albums on the old stereo system until I just about wore out the grooves! I was always intrigued by the vocals of lead singer/drummer Steve Arrington and tried to get my hands on just about everything that featured this brother's talents. When he dropped his classic debut project Steve Arrington's Hall of Fame, Vol. 1 in 1983, I was mesmerized at how funky this music was. Then two years later, he released his masterpiece LP Dancin' In the Key of Life and to this day, it stays in constant rotation on my iPod.

It's an honor and privilege to feature the music of Steve Arrington and Slave on this podcast and I am overwhelmed that the man himself blessed us with an incredible interview. I consider Steve to be one of my biggest musical inspirations and I am sure you will appreciate hearing from him as well. As always, sit back, relax, and enjoy!

What's happening, my friend? You're in the mix with Mr. Chris for a SKANKIN' podcast of The Soul Brother Show - The Home of Heavy Soul and Raw Funk! For as long as I care to remember, I have been a fan of Fishbone. They are the epitome of true musicians and an act that you must see live in order to get the full experience of what this legendary band is all about. After seeing the documentary Everyday Sunshine: The Story of Fishbone recently, it was my wife Georgette who suggested that I reach out to the band for an interview. Lo and behold, bassist Norwood Fisher came through to bless us with an incredible interview where he discusses the history of the band, playing on Joi's classic underground LP, The Amoeba Cleansing Syndrome, and that infamous dreadlock that has become somewhat of a trademark for him. Rounding out the show are new tracks from Prince, Ama Evolution, Tess, and some Fishbone classics that are guaranteed to move and remove you! As always, sit back, relax, and enjoy!
