Ain’t We Funkin’ Now

On this podcast of The Soul Brother Show - The Home of Heavy Soul and Raw Funk, I wanted to jam. As I dug through my collection of albums, I was just pulling out some classics and put them on the turntables and allowed the vibes to flow through. Furthermore, I wanted to honor the music and legacy of bassist extraordinaire Louis Johnson of the legendary funk band the Brothers Johnson. It was all about Thunder Thumbs and Lightning Licks and when you heard these cats get in a groove and throw down, you were done for. I got some classic joints from Atlantic Starr, LTD, Aurra, and Stevie Wonder to name a few. As always sit back, relax, and enjoy.

Atlantic Starr - Stand Up

Cameo - Rigor Mortis

LTD - Jam

Brothers Johnson - Strawberry Letter 23

Brothers Johnson - Get the Funk Out Ma Face

Brothers Johnson - Ain't We Funkin' Now

Aurra - Are You Single

Chaka Khan - Sleep On It

The Gap Band - Stand Up and Dance with Me

Stevie Wonder - All Day Sucker

Ray Parker, Jr and Raydio - For Those Who Like to Groove

Graham Central Station - The Jam

Come On Get Up: A Tribute to Janet Jackson

Janet Jackson. What can I say about this legendary entertainer whom I have admired since I was a kid dancing around to "Say You Do" in my parent's living room? For as long as I care to remember, there was always Janet. One of my fondest memories is the day the janet. album came out and I caught the 33 and high-tailed it Sound Warehouse before they opened because I had to have this album. When I pulled the plastic off and popped it into my Sony Discman and heard the music for the first time, it became my go-to music for the next two years. For four decades, Janet has mesmerized the masses with her music and acting and on this podcast of The Soul Brother Show - The Home of Heavy Soul and Raw Funk, it's all about Damita Jo. As always sit back, relax, and enjoy!

Happy Birthday, Janet!
