The Soul Brother Show w/Special Guest Militia

April 14th, 2013

What's happening, my friend? You're in the mix with Mr. Chris for a HEAVY METAL podcast of The Soul Brother Show - The Home of Heavy Soul and Raw Funk! We got some thrashin'  joints from the likes of Tamar-kali and God Forbid as well as a very insightful and thought-provoking interview with Militia, who holds down the vocals in the bands Swear On Your Life and Judas Priestess, the world's only all-girl tribute to the metal gods, Judas Priest. I first heard of Milita while browsing around AfroPunk one day and when I peeped her music, I knew that I had to have her on this show! She is an awesome young lady and I am positive that you will enjoy the very entertaining conversation that took place recently. As always, sit back, relax, and enjoy!

The Soul Brother Show w/Special Guest Andre Cymone

March 24th, 2013

It's been said time and time again that the best things come to those who wait and I am living proof! This ELECTRIC podcast of The Soul Brother Show - The Home of Heavy Soul and Raw Funk has been six months in the making and marks the return of a music legend and I am so excited! The person that I am speaking of is none other than the legendary Andre Cymone, the original bassist for Prince and the producer of many Jody Watley classics such as "Looking For a New Love" and "Real Love." The man that gave us "The Dance Electric" talks to us about that first meeting with Prince, his time in the band Grand Central (featuring Morris Day), and opening for Rick James. My friends, this is the story of how it all began in Minneapolis, Minnesota and I know that you will appreciate this musical history lesson. As always, sit back, relax, and enjoy!
